Methodology Visual 360° video - Tool Discovery Session (Tuesday 1st session)

Session Information

To book a seat, add this session to your favourites and during the congress, don't forget to register via the "check-in" button in the top right-hand corner. The capacity is 20 people onsite per one-hour session.

This workshop is part of the ANR-FNR Augmented Artwork Analysis (AAA) project, which aims to produce a tablet application for augmented perception and interpretation of 15th to 19th century paintings in the three partner museums - Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, Palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille, Musée National d'Histoire et d'Art du Luxembourg. By combining direct observation of the painting with augmented vision on a screen, this application will enable visitors to learn, discover and play with the works of art, during guided or self-guided tours, educational or research meetings.

The Cellule Corpus Ingénierie Audiovisuelle of the ICAR lab (UMR 5191) will discuss the benefits of 360° video

  • for documenting the permanent exhibition at the PBA in Lille,
  • for providing situated access to the paintings hanging in the various rooms along the route.

What you will discover during this workshop?

  • The capture device.
  • How this audiovisual format spatializes the artworks, enabling visitors to move from one painting to the next while keeping them anchored in the museum space.
  • How the Vista 3D editing software can be used to enhance the artworks with rich and diversified techno-pedagogical contents.

This workshop will explore different forms of (re)mediation of paintings in the museum.

  • One part will be devoted to the presentation,
  • Second part will enable you to manipulate and experiment with the Lille PBA 360° tour.
